Blog 2-Stadium tour
On my first day working with the Browns organization, I got an extensive tour of Cleveland Browns Stadium. After parking my car, I was taken up to the press box, which is currently being used for offices as the Berea facility is under construction. It was interesting to see people working on various things for the team, including social media, graphic design, tickets for fans, scheduling, and more. After this, I got to see the room where the video board is operated during game day. This room consisted of around 20 to 25 workstations, each responsible for a different aspect of the stadium. Everything including the sound in the stadium, the jumbotron, scoreboard, and the PA system during games. Each of these people work cohesively in order to create a smooth and fun game day experience for the fans. Next I got to go to the ground level. Here, I got to see the field, the locker room entrances, and the garage under the stadium. On the field, the grass had recently been regrown after a hockey event that caused the grass to be taken away. It was interesting to be on the field looking at an empty stadium with no paint on the grass. For the upcoming season, the Browns are adding an on field seating area during games. This will allow for an experience that allows some spectators to watch the game at field level, see players as they exit the locker room, and have field access before games. A question that the organization is asking themselves is whether enough of these expensive seats will sell during games. As someone who has witnessed the passion of my fellow Browns fans throughout the years, I feel that these seats will sell out. Finally, the garage under the stadium was interesting to see. In this garage on game day, there is bus parking for the team, valet parking for fans, and storage/behind the scenes for game day. Finally, I was able to see a promotional event. In partnership with Sugardale, people were able to volunteer their dogs for a photoshoot in the Browns stadium. It was interesting to see this event, and I hear there are many like this every day. Overall, It was great to see parts of the stadium not accessible to fans, and to learn about the behind the scenes aspects of game day.
Looking forward to your connections to more "Behind the scenes" looks.
